Payment plans for big adventures

Wayward is the booking platform for multi-day trips, treks, and expeditions. Payment plans let guests commit with a deposit and pay the balance across up to four dates you set, so you fill high-value departures months earlier without carrying the follow-up.

Deposit now, balance on your schedule

You configure a trip once. Every booking that follows gets its own plan, its own reminders, and its own payment link.

You set the schedule, per trip

Choose the deposit and the dates the balance is due, expressed as days before departure: 105, 75, and 45 days out, for example. Wayward splits the remaining balance evenly across those dates and issues every booking its own schedule. Late bookings simply skip any dates that have already passed, so a guest is never given a due date the calendar can't honor.

    The deposit confirms the spot

At checkout the guest pays the deposit and the spot is theirs. The rest of the schedule travels with them: under the pay button, on the confirmation screen, in the confirmation email, and on the receipt. Nobody has to ask what they owe or when.

The balance arrives without you chasing it

Each guest gets a private trip page with their own payment link. Wayward emails a reminder ahead of every due date, and settling an installment, or the whole balance, takes two clicks. No account, no app, no invoice to write.

What it does for your business

    • Sell bigger trips. A $2,400 expedition converts far better at $500 down. Payment plans move your premium, high-margin itineraries out of the “maybe next year” pile and onto the manifest.

    • Fill departures earlier. Commitments land months out and the balance arrives on a schedule you designed around your own outfitter deposits, permits, and payroll.

    • Stop chasing payments. Reminders go out before every due date, late guests get nudged, and you get alerted. Hours of follow-up disappear, and no booking is ever cancelled unless you cancel it.

    • See everything at a glance. Each departure’s guest list shows plan progress (“2 of 4 paid”), flags anyone behind, and records a bank transfer, check, or cash payment in one click. You always know what a departure is actually worth.

    • Nothing new to learn or run. Plans run through the same checkout, discount codes, receipts, and guest emails as the rest of your bookings, with card payments processed by Stripe.

    What guests get

    • No surprises. Every date and amount is on screen before a card is entered.

    • They stay in control. No card is stored and nothing is charged automatically. Each payment is theirs to make, prompted by an email reminder.

    • Pay ahead any time. The full remaining balance can be settled early from the same link, which is how a good share of plans actually finish.
